Tap:               To do a rhythmic and patterned succession of steps to music using special

shoes that cause the steps to be audible.

Jazz:              An energetic dance form that incorporates strong sharp movements and eye catching turns, leaps, and jumps, to up-tempo music.  It is a style often seen in Broadway shows and movies.

Hip Hop:       This dance form is evolving in many different directions today, heavily influenced by the evolution of hip hop music.

Lyrical:          This style is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. Lyrical dance challenges choreographers and dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancer's movement attempts to show the meaning of the music.
